Summary:
The Egyptian Goose is a light coloured medium sized goose. It is brown on the upper parts with black outer wings but white inner wings. It has a distinctive dark brown patch around the eye, and a ring at the base of the neck. The bill is pink, as are the long legs. Egyptian geese were introduced to the UK in the 1700’s
Ecology:
Native to sub-Saharan Africa, the Egyptian Goose is found around freshwater lakes and canals, where it feeds on grass and other vegetation.
